The Bulgarian Lev
A legacy worth preserving
The Bulgarian Lev (BGN) has been the official currency of Bulgaria since 1881. As Bulgaria prepares to adopt the Euro, we preserve this cultural heritage through blockchain technology.
Historical Origin
Introduced in 1881, the Lev became a symbol of Bulgarian independence and economic sovereignty. Its name derives from the archaic Bulgarian word for "lion", reflecting the strength and pride of the nation.
Modern Era
Since 1997, the BGN has been pegged to the Euro (previously the Deutsche Mark) at a fixed rate of 1.95583 BGN = 1 EUR, ensuring stability and facilitating trade within Europe.
Euro Transition
Bulgaria is set to adopt the Euro as its official currency. BGNC ensures that the Lev lives on in the digital realm, accessible to all Bulgarians and crypto enthusiasts worldwide.
The Bulgarian Flag
White symbolizes peace, Green represents fertility and nature, Red stands for the courage of the Bulgarian people
